Practical details of working together

  • I always arrange a complimentary Get Acquainted call before scheduling full sessions. It’s a chance for us to connect, explore how we might work together and see whether it feels like a good fit.

  • Before your first session we’ll have connected during a Get Acquainted call, so many of your initial questions will likely already be answered. You’ll also find short videos under the Resources tab if you’d like to learn more beforehand.

The first session gives us time to get to know each other, review your intake form and talk more fully about how you hope our time together will support you.

There’s never a set agenda. We meet exactly where you are.

  • We’ll meet at regular intervals, typically weekly or biweekly, with the aim of supporting your longer term goals.

At the same time, each session stays responsive to what’s present in the moment. Often, it’s these small, immediate experiences that open the door to deeper layers of healing.

  • I work from a body-oriented perspective that includes Somatic Experiencing, Craniosacral Therapy and SE Touch. Sessions are conversational and collaborative, with gentle attention to the nervous system and, when appropriate, light touch.

Some sessions are primarily dialogue-based. Others include hands-on work on the treatment table. Often, they’re a blend. The direction we take depends on what feels supportive and resourcing for you.

  • Sessions are 60 minutes. We move at a pace your system can integrate.

  • This work takes time. Rather than aiming for a quick fix, we allow your nervous system to build capacity gradually and at a sustainable pace.

I typically work with clients for six months or longer. More complex or developmental trauma often benefits from a year or more of support. We’ll check in regularly about what feels helpful and realistic for you.

I generally recommend beginning with weekly sessions for the first four to six appointments to create steadiness and continuity. From there, many people move to biweekly sessions. As patterns begin to shift and regulation strengthens, monthly sessions can sometimes offer ongoing support.

  • $160 + 13% HST ($180.80) per 60-minute session.

Payment can be made by e-transfer or credit card. Sliding scale sessions are payable by e-transfer only.

  • I believe quality care should be accessible regardless of financial means. I set aside a limited number of spots in my practice for sliding scale clients.

Please refer to the Green Bottle Sliding Scale to assess where you might fall. Sliding scale sessions are payable by e-transfer only.

  • My services are not covered by OHIP or most extended health benefit plans. You’re welcome to review the sliding scale section if cost is a concern.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are subject to the full session fee.

I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations arise. Repeated late cancellations or missed sessions, however, may result in the full fee being charged.

  • Ongoing clients are welcome to reach out between appointments by email for brief updates or practical matters. I respond within one to two business days, Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday.

Please note that I do not provide crisis support by email. If you require urgent or crisis support, contact a local crisis line or emergency services.

I’m happy to answer any questions you have.
